Star Plastic is a visual packaging company that was founded 30 years ago and has grown to one of the largest thermoforming companies in the West. Our operations in Harbor City, California gives us the ability to service customers easily in the Western Region. Our 14 thermoforming machines are designed for producing small and large quantities of small and large blisters, clamshells, display trays and industrial trays.

Star Plastic has the ability to meet various thermoforming needs because of our diverse equipment. We have large and small on and off line die cutting equipment that allows us to set up and run any size job economically. The recent acquisition of Lemax Industries in San Diego adds two very large Sencorp 2500 machines that can manufacture large blisters, clamshells and trays and very high volume requirements.

In house tooling capability, including diemaking enables us to respond quickly to new item mold requirements well as modifying existing tools. We have a large, highly trained staff in our tooling department plus three CNC milling machines. State of the art design software and equipment ensures that our Cad Cam designers can create the most challenging blisters, clamshells and trays.

Capacity –

Star Plastic’s 14 machines are capable of producing hundreds of thousands of blisters per day.  We have the capacity to supply requirements of millions of blisters a year with ease.  We are currently running 80 hours a week and can ramp up to 120 hours if needed.  Star Plastic also has the ability to put out several tools a week.
