Unique Services

When you select Star Plastic as a supplier you not only get a supplier that can satisfy your thermoforming needs, you have also selected a supplier that can assist you in the following areas:

  • Edge fold
We posses an edge fold machine that rolls over the flange of a blister and allows a card to be slipped into the rail that is created. These blisters and cards require no equipment to put together. They also create an environmentally friendly alternative to a traditional blister and card in that the blister does not stick to the card. This allows for easy source separation and segregation of plastic and paperboard making recycling of the package easy.
  • Foil stamping
Star plastic has the ability to hot stamp your blisters, clamshells, tray lids and display trays in house on one of our three hot stamp machines. One of the hot stampers is a high-speed eight-station machine that can stamp numerous pieces an hour.
  • Deep draw thermoforming
Star Plastic has the ability to form up to 80 mil High Impact Polystyrene in excess of 6-1/2 inches deep. This allows us to make very large and high display trays for cosmetics and other application. We can also form and in-line cut clamshells that are large in nature and hold very deep products.
  • Flocked material
Star Plastic stocks some flocked material and forms many parts made out of this highly desirable material. The presentation of your product in flocked material is value added and creates a lasting impression for your customers.
  • Low volume requirements
Star Plastic has the equipment that allows us to run small jobs much more economically than traditional  traditional in-line thermoforming machines that take from a half a day to a day to set up. Our off line machines can sometimes set up in a matter of minutes. We have changed jobs several times a day in some instances on these machines.
  • Quick turn around
Our 14 machines allow us the flexibility to turn jobs in a matter of days and sometimes hours. It is not uncommon for some customers to call us in a bind and ask us to turn a job that day or the next. Often times we can accommodate them with their requests.
  • Long run capabilities
Our larger format machines can run long run jobs with ease. It is not uncommon for our customers to request hundreds of thousands or millions of blisters and clamshells. Running fast equipment and two shifts allows us to usually surpass our customers ability to use the parts we make.
  • In-house tool making
The ability to make our tools in house allows us to control this part of the equation. We have the ability to turn tools on a dime if needed. Prototyping is a breeze on one of our three CNC machines.
  • Tool size flexibility
Star Plastic has machines that vary in size. What that means to you as a customer is economics in tool making and running. For small jobs we can make small tools and run them on one of our small machines. For large runs we can make large tools and run them on one of our larger machines. Often time’s customers have requirements that vary depending on the demand for a certain product. Some thermoformers have either small machines or only large machines. Our ability to fit your shifting needs adds value to your organization.
  • Combo runs
Our combination runs are just that. We combine several customers on one run several times a month. The small tool you purchase is a fraction of the cost of a dedicated tool. The sharing of the set up with other customers allows us to get you blisters economically. Sometimes a tool and 12,500 blisters can be purchased for a total cost of under $1,000.00.
